This inquiry arose out of a review of the ATSIS Law and Justice Program: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Services, Audit Report No. 13, 2003-2004, and focussed on the adequacy of legal services delivered to Indigenous Australians particularly from the perspective of the service providers. This Inquiry looked at the effectiveness of policing and existing laws on petrol sniffing in affected Indigenous communities, diversionary initiatives and community-level activities; and the success some communities have had in reducing petrol sniffing including the impact of non-sniffable Opal petrol (on Parliament of Australia website)
- Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs: Inquiry into the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Amendment Bill 2006 [Search]
This Bill seeks to amend the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act 1976 (Cth) to expedite mining and exploration on Aboriginal land, and to devolve decision making powers of land councils. It provides for 99 year head leases over towns, attempting to make home ownership common on Aboriginal land, and also intends to dispose of some outstanding land claims (on Parliament of Australia website)

This Inquiry into the impacts of uranium mining was to consider the health, safety and other effects of uranium mining and milling on communities adjacent to mine and mill sites, those communities are mostly Aboriginal. - WA Ecologically Sustainable Development Committee: Inquiry into Uranium Mining at Kintyre (1997-2001) [Search]
This Inquiry looked into issues related to Rio Tinto's uranium operations at Kintyre, adjacent to the Rudall River National Park in the Eastern Pilbara region. Although not completed and unreported, the Inquiry site contains transcripts of evidence from Gundjehmi and Jabiluka (on Parliament of Western Australia website)
