Resolution 65/2001 ratifies Resolution no. 1 of the Conference of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on Regional Cooperation
and Co-ordination of Search and Rescue (SAR) Services and Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), held in Florence, Italy
on 16-20 October 2000 and its Annex I which establishes the Sub-Regional Centers of Search and Rescue proposed for African Countries
washed by the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.
