ANNEX B

IAIACAP- STATISTICAL DATA (2013-2014)

2013

The IAIACAP received 138 complaints:

a) 12 complaints were outside its jurisdiction;

b) 51 complaints were assigned to investigators for investigation

➢ The investigation of 33 complaints has been concluded. Criminal prosecution was instigated for 6 of them and disciplinary prosecution was instigated for another 5. No offences were found in relation to the remaining 22 complaints;

➢ 9 complaints were retracted by the complainants;

➢ 7 complaints are still being investigated;

➢ The investigation of 2 complaints was suspended.

c) For 56 complaints the IAIACAP carried out a preliminary investigation and the complaints were evaluated as ‘unfounded’;

d) 14 complaints were evaluated as being of minor importance and were forwarded to the Chief of Police for further action;

e) 3 complaints were retracted by the complainants;

f) 2 complaints were suspended due to the complainants´ failure to communicate further with the IAIACAP.

2014

The IAIACAP received 212 complaints:

a) 16 complaints were outside its jurisdiction;

b) 94 complaints were assigned to investigators for investigation

➢ The investigation of 18 complaints has been concluded. Disciplinary prosecution was instigated for 1 of them. No offences were found in relation to for the remaining 17 complaints.

➢ 11 complaints were retracted by the complainants;

➢ The investigation of 1 complaint was suspended;

➢ 64 complaints are still being investigated;

c) For 78 complaints the IAIACAP carried out a preliminary investigation but the complaints were evaluated as unfounded.

d) 18 complaints were evaluated as being of minor importance and were forwarded to the Chief of Police for further action;

e) 2 complaints were retracted by the complainants;

f) 4 complaints were forwarded to the Attorney General of the Republic.
