AGREEMENT

in the form of an exchange of letters between the European Economic Community and Norway amending the Temporary Arrangement on joint discipline in their trade in cheese

Brussels,

Your Excellency,

Referring to the consultations held between the delegations of Norway and the Commission of the European Communities under point 7 of the Temporary Arrangement between Norway and the European Economic Community on joint discipline in their trade in cheese, I have the honour to confirm that the Community is in agreement with footnote (3) of that Arrangement being amended as follows:

'(3) Whole cheeses, with rind means whole cheeses weighing from 9 kilograms to 11 kilograms inclusive.

For the purpose of these provisions, ''rind'' is defined as follows: the rind of such cheeses is the outer layer formed from the cheese itself having a distinctly more solid consistency and a distinctly darker colour.'

I should be obliged if you would confirm that your Government is in agreement with this amendment.

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter of today's date, which reads as follows:
