The delegations of Sweden and the European Communities have concluded negotiations under Article XXVIII of the GATT concerning the modification of the Swedish import regime for apples and pears. C. Duty free periods

Apples: 24 January to 31 July

Pears: 1 November to 31 July

Sweden reserves its rights in accordance with GATT Article XXVIII to modify the import price intervals and the differentiated bound duty rates in relation to the development of cif prices for imports into Sweden of apples and pears.

The new tariff rates will be implemented for apples as from 15 December 1988 and for pears as from 1 August 1989.

The opening of the market for imports will take place in 1988 not later than 15 December for apples and not later than 15 November for pears.

The quantitative restrictions of imports of apples and pears will be completely abolished not later than 15 November 1989.
